You just need to follow these steps religiously and you can start sending emails straight from your iPad in no time.

These instructions will help you access your email using IMAP. If you begin to experience difficulty in accessing Yahoo! Email over POP, following this guide will help you resolve that.

1) On your Iphone menu, tap “settings”

2) Scroll down and tap “Mail, Contacts, Calendars”

3) Tap “Add Account”

4) Don't tap “Yahoo” hence, choose “Other”

5) Proceed by tapping “Add Mail Account”

6) Encode the following:

7) In the other fields, use the following:

  • Host name: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
  • Username: email address
  • Password: password

8) Click “Done” and your account will be automatically verified and ready for use.

Access a Yahoo! Mail Account using iPhone Mail

1) Tap “Settings” on your iPhone “Home” Screen

2) Proceed to “Mail, Contacts, Calendars”

3) Choose “Add Account” under “Accounts” choose “Yahoo”

5) Under “Address” encode your whole Yahoo mail address

6) And Encode your password under the “Password” icon

7) Click “Next”

8) Make sure “Mail” is “ON”

10) Then “Home” button


You can also set up your Yahoo! Mail using different aliases

1) Start by opening “settings”

2) Choose,”mail, contacts, calendars”

3) Then, “add account”

4) Select other (do not select yahoo! that's the key)

5) Select “Add Mail Account”

6) Inside the Address box, encode the alias you want to use and fill out the next information then tap next.

7) Be sure that iMAP is selected

8) For the incoming Mail Server, (encode the following) if Yahoo!

  • Host name: imap.yahoo.com
  • Username: your main Yahoo! Address (not alias.)
  • Password: your yahoo password

9) For the Outgoing Mail Server, do not enter your Yahoo! Information. Make sure to use a different server in order for you to manage sending emails using your alias.

10) Click “next” and wait for your account to be verified.

11) You have the option to select sync mail and notes

12) Tap Save


By doing so, you'll be able to save your alias. Even though, you don't have the capability to send your emails using your main email address. If you want to be able to do that, follow the next steps.

1) Start by opening the “Notes” app

2) In a new note, type comma, followed by a space and your main address

Ex. youremailname@youremailservicename.com

3) Proceed by copying the next string

4) Return to Settings, Mail, Contacts, Calendars and tap the account you recently added.

5) Inside the iMAP account section, put the cursor at the end of the address field.

6) Paste it

7) Tap Done

You can now send emails from your alias or main address. Make sure that whichever address you listed on your field will be your default account.
